MG S5 EV Price in Nepal: Paramount Motors, the authorized distributor of MG vehicles, has officially launched the MG S5 EV in Nepal, marking Nepal as only the second country after China to receive this model. Positioned as the successor to the popular MG ZS EV, the MG S5 boasts advanced features, a competitive price, and two battery options.

The MG S5 EV is available in three variants with two Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery options:
- 49.1 kWh Battery:
- Comfort Trim: Priced at Rs. 43.99 Lakhs
- Luxury Trim: Priced at Rs. 48.99 Lakhs
- 62.2 kWh Battery:
- Luxury Trim: Priced at Rs. 54.99 Lakhs
Performance and Range
All three variants are powered by a 99 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM), producing 135 PS and 250 Nm of torque. The Comfort and Luxury models with the 49.1 kWh battery offer a WLTP range of 340 km, while the Luxury variant with the 62.2 kWh battery extends the range to 430 km. The EV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 7.1 seconds and has a top speed of 175 km/h.
Battery and Charging
A key highlight of the MG S5 is its ultra-thin battery pack, measuring just 110 mm thick. Developed in collaboration with CATL, this design enhances aerodynamics and maximizes interior space.

- AC (7 kW Charger): Approximately 8 hours for the 49.1 kWh battery and 10 hours for the 62.2 kWh battery.
- DC Fast Charging: 10% to 80% in around 24 minutes for the 49.1 kWh battery (supports up to 120 kW) and 26 minutes for the 62.2 kWh battery (supports up to 150 kW).
Design and Features
The MG S5 EV features a modern design with a closed-face front grille, sleek LED DRLs, and LED projector headlamps. The interior boasts a minimalist aesthetic, highlighted by a 15.6-inch infotainment screen with built-in apps like Spotify and YouTube. Additional features include a floating center console with a wireless charger and a cooled glove box. The Luxury trim offers leatherette seats with heating, a panoramic sunroof, and a 6-speaker sound system.

Built on SAIC’s Modular Scalable Platform (MSP), the MG S5 features a rear-wheel-drive layout and independent suspension. This setup enhances handling, stability, and comfort, making it the first in its segment to offer such an advanced suspension system.
